Ho acquisito dei filmati in DVCAM su disco fisso, ogni cassetta equivale circa a 12 GB.
Ora vorrei trasportare questi files su un HD Esterno FAT32, il quale però non gestisce file superiori a 2GB.
Ora, tenendo conto che non posso riformattare l'HD, esiste un modo per spezzare il filmato in parti non superiori ai 2GB?

Una volta ho acquisito i filmati direttamente su HD esterno, e ho notato solo ora che me li salvava in pezzi da 2GB, gestiti da un "file riassuntivo" importabile in FCP, e trattando i vari files cme un unico flusso video.
Esiste il modo per fargli fare questa operazione senza riacquisire tutto?

Accidenti, e' un problema che affronto ogni volta che devo passare dei file su Grass Valley... e lo risolvo esportando in mp2...
Ma non e' il tuo caso.

If this is something that you're exporting out of FCP, go to your System Settings (Shift-Q) and check the box for Limit Capture/Export File Segment Size and alter the value to 4000MB (the default will be 2000MB).

You should then be able to export your movie as necessary. You'll get your first segment (Exported_Movie.mov), then a whole bunch of -av files (eg. Exported_Movie-av2.mov), but that is the correct behavior. Provided your colleague on Windows opens the first non -av clip, everything should stitch together correctly on his system.

f you still want to export as an Animation file, this is available via the File > Export > QuickTime Movie route, you just have to select Custom.. from the settings options (all the way at the bottom of the list) and then alter the settings as necessary. That is, change the Compressor (under QuickTime Video Settings) to Animation, then hit the Advanced... button and choose Millions of Colors+ for Depth to maintain an alpha channel, if you've got one.

But let's take a step back - what the desired use of this file? If it's meant for compositing in something like After Effects, stick with Animation. Unless your colleague is using a Mac though - and you've mentioned that they aren't - ProRes isn't an option, since it's a codec that only works on Macs (no PC version).

Adesso passo tutto da MacPro a MacbookPro in Target Mode, però credo che l'unica soluzione definitiva sia prendere un HD enorme su cui mettere solo il footage.

sì, ma il problema è che devo poi avere accesso al file video in quanto tale, nn come archivio

avevo inteso questa frase come "trasporto temporaneamente" i file sul disco, e poi -chessò- me li copio a casa sul mio Mac e poi li elaboro

invece, Ash tu vuoi elaborarli direttamente sull'HD esterno,no?
